Being Cinderella

“Although he was a kind and devoted father, and gave his beloved child every luxury and comfort, still he felt she needed a mother’s care. And so, he married again, choosing for his second wife, a woman of good family, with two daughters just Cinderella’s age, by name: Anastasia and Drizella.”

Cinderella

Being an only child must have been difficult for a father to educate and care for her while going away on work, so he decided to marry a woman, a mother of two, who take care of her. The problem is that new addition to the family were fearful of losing their richness just acquired, so they treated Cinderella as a threat, going against her rights as heir of her father’s riches. Perhaps this may seem as a story, but we can relate to it when life throws us hardships and injustice is all around us, people suffering, poverty, corruption. etc.

“It was upon the untimely death of this good man, however, that this stepmother’s true nature was revealed. Cold, cruel, and bitterly jealous of Cinderella’s charm and beauty, she was grimly determined to forward the interests of her own two awkward daughters.”

Cinderella

We may have a difficult time to see the good in all the evil around us, but we can be sure that as long as life is hard, we can always get the good out of it. If we decide not to be taken away by injustice, but maintaining true to ourselves and good habits. Cinderella never expects anything form others, she is cordial and conscious of others needs, that is why she is so industrious and self-aware of making others feel good when she is around.

“Well, there’s one thing: they can’t order me to stop dreaming.”

Cinderella

Perhaps life can become difficult, but we can be sure that if we do whatever we think is possible form our part, we can hope everything works out, because we are not the only ones thing good.

“If you’d lost all your faith, I couldn’t be here. And here I am!”

  • Simplicity- being oneself without trying to fit in
  • Hard work- get the chores done and give results

Cinderella

Cinderella has the qualities of a hospitable person, not in servilism as being ordered around, but making others feel welcome when they are with her. These actions make every person feel good around them, even enterprises have taken Cinderella’s example to promote their services in hotels, hospitals, restaurants, etc. When we see the clients as people in need of a service, we are able to treat them how they deserve: the best way possible so they can feel accepted, like being at home. These good habits, or virtues, guarantee that.
