Between thinking and thought

In our language we need to distinguish between “thinking” and “thought.” We may assume, that thinking is a human capacity, and thought is a product of the intellect.

“Thinking” implies the action in a present time, some activity going on which may include critical sensitivity to what can go wrong. Also there may be new ideas, and the perception of some kind inside. It is a practical judgement of thing and our relation to them as pleasurable or hamrful.

“Thought” is the past action of thinking. We have the idea that after we have been thinking something, it just evaporates, it becomes like a ghost of an action, what may remain or it is lost in the shower or in the cofee we sip.

But thinking doesn’t disappear, the sinapsis between our neurons doesn’t goes missing, it goes into the brain and leaves something like a trace, like a road, which becomes thought. And thought acts automatically, is a faculty that is always active. So thought is the response from memory from the past, from what has been done and stays in our mind.

We need to learn to think, so our thought about things are the ones that make us who we are, taking care of our thinking will nourish our thoughts.
