Fear feeds corruption

Talking to my good friend Wade Alley about the lack of creativity we are seeing in our workfields, we realized that part of society’s problems is based on fear. Fear of decision, action and facing reality; I mean, for example: I’ve heard of people not living at all because they are afraid of doing things. They begin with a polluted thought that whatever they do will be wrong, and not just bad, but in the worst way possible.

Nowadays we decide based on what benefits we will have: if there is a safety net to catch us if we fall; if we are not going to fail at all or at least if we do, it won’t hurt. There are a lot of «ifs» to do marvelous things that, with all those problems, there is no motivation left to at least try. We want to take everything without losing a little.

If we are in our confort zone, then there is nothing that can harm us, or at least we think so, when in fact the only harm done is to us by ourselves. Staying safe instead of taking risks in things that matter (not drugs) we are losing everything: us. There is no creativity to change things only creativity to feed fear.

If we have to lose something we are willing to lose the least to win the most; at least that is what we think, that is why there is so much corruption, as a safety net that will keep us from facing reality as it is. It is a contradiction to have the best kind of security if you want to pass through because you are an honest person. Corruption feeds from fear, and that fear is of failing.
