Geostorm
The world seems to be evolving. There have been changes and a disruption of seasons; the sea seems furious; the skies are more and more agressive and the earth is moving. Apparently, we are being attacked, but that is not true. It is the constant movement of the earth that is reminding us that life has a course and that changes belong to that natural course. Hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, and monsoons have been always violent, but now it seems that they are stronger than in previous years. We may blame ourselves because we have much more to lose: money, lands and, our lives.
Nature seems to be rebelling, but we know it cannot be controlled entirely. But what would happen if we could? The movie Geostorm proposes a way in which humanity adapts nature through satellites that keep us safe from nature’s harm. This safety is controlled and humankind can live in peace.
What disasters bring to us is a reminder of the true value of things: life and love, so we all forget about power, politics and any other problem that keeps us from finding happiness.
That is the ideal world, without threats. But if this solution is universal, why keep it away from others? In the fight for survival there is also the fight for power and that is what makes the problem of the movie, not nature’s wrath, but the human nature that wants to control everything, even climate. And that is why humanity cannot evolve properly because there is always someone who wants more, even in the worst case scenario.
Climate change is happening, but is it humanity’s fault? Or is it just evolution?
