Only the brave

When we talk about bravery, we think of extraordinary people that withstand a terrible menace or an extreme situation that put them at the edge of death, like soldiers, firefighters, police, activists, people in great danger.

All those great heroes that stand up for themselves and have been born with something special since the were born. I mean, we think we are not brave because we aren’t trained to be, because we are afraid or because being brave means hard work and we are not willing to get it done.

Who is brave? Nowadays we see that our life’s problems become difficult we may not be facing death, or at least we don’t think so, as to confront something dangerous like water, fire, heights, violence, etc.

But our daily decisions challenge us for the responsibilities we face, and that requires bravery: going to work and smile; taking that opportunity; knowing what you can do and standing for it; meeting other people; being prepared to face an exam; meaning what we want and saying it; keeping our heads up and acting accordingly.

Bravery is not proved with a gun or an advantage, it is shown through our daily actions. In spite of fear we can feel we can still make a stand and guarantee the safety of others and ourselves.

Want to be brave? Start now.
