Silence
Nowadays there is too much noise. It seems that when there is silence is a sign of something wrong. Being silent is like an emptiness that we become afraid of whatever it may spill, or come as in darkness. Silence is the monster of modernity where there is a menace that might harm us.
Silence seems to us like an endless pit where we fall in a never-ending whole where we might get lost. Silence has become an enemy of the individual. Our culture always throws us noises, ideas, words without meaning, just because we have become afraid of what we might think about them, what we decide without any other, to be able to be comfortable with our loneliness without being isolated. Silence may be the solution to our problems. Perhaps it is the cure to our crisis. We don’t need someone to tell us who we are and what we want. Within ourselves we find the answers that we need, only we can know what we want and who we are.
When we are silent we can know ourselves, rediscover who we are and what we want. Having silence may allow us to let everything fall into place, to make sense out of a world filled with noise, images, speed and impulses that may confuse us. Being silent is the cure of a world sick with noises that collapse us losing ourselves. Dare to have silence in your life.
