Surf life

A surfer life is all about enjoying the ride, is about seeing yourself against Nature and realizing it is impossible to control what is coming. Every new wave is a challenge to our capacity, but we don’t run from it, but face the impossible using a surfboard so we can be able to ride the ocean.

Surfing is a competition between a mighty force of nature and the frail and weak humanity, «they’re not competing against any person; they’re not trying to beat anyone,» they only try to become a part of this great moment while it lasts, using all the skills at hand to make it through the wave.

Life goes on, just like the ocean, there are big waves and small waves, they all affect our lives; we can get wet, or get drowned, or we can end up just floating giving up every chance to change the current events. «The surfer waits for the big wave because he values the challenge it presents.» The more challenging the obstacle we face, the greater the opportunity for the surfer to discover and extend his or her true potential. It depends on the goal we are reaching to make our life or enterprise achieve meaning. We win what we want to win; for that goal we pursue with every decision, we take action.

It is not the achievement, but the effort we put on to conquer the goal. The competition is not about beating the other but recognizing our capacity and with our abilities to make way to get what we want. We ourselves are the opponent to conquer.  «In true competition, no person is defeated. Both players benefit by their efforts to overcome the obstacles presented by the other.»
