The asshole in cold-blood

Who decides who lives and dies? Who can kill an innocent man? Even a guilty one? Truman Capote writes a novel «In cold blood» to talk about a case in Kansas in 1959 where a family of four has been murdered without reason. Their deaths shocked everyone and still, today is a mystery how people are capable to perform such atrocities. The violence of the scene shows us how such peaceful people with no suspicion were murdered in cold blood by two people that thought they owned the world. We may believe they are sociopaths, but what makes one?

Society nowadays is taught to believe they deserve things for being who they are, or just for being there we must grant them recognition, even in education we have made them enjoy the perks of success without being really successful. We say that small achievements make them continue giving their best, when in fact that makes people less responsible for their work, kind of like a utilitarian way where if there is no reward it is hardly a good thing to do. We have become conditioned to act and do things for the reward, instead of doing it for the principle of good things. When we are good we do good and everyone is benefited from it.

We may be educating assholes soon to become sociopaths. Let’s begin with educating virtues.
