The grinch complex

The worst thing about Christmas is to have to be alone. That is the reason why the Grinch hates this time of the year so much. However, he never wanted to get out of himself and ask for help; that is why his loneliness is always showing him a ”better” side. There is no one that contradicts him in his ideas and plans because he is all alone.

Most people that feel lonely are like the Grinch who, in their own works, they think and plan but never ask for help and are always pointing others for their mistakes without seeing themselves in the mirror.

Life may be hard, but it is not that hard when you are realistic and start to see things for what they are. We may not like them, but that is not the point.

Being lonely may make us self-centred and selfish because we cannot see reality as it is, but that is only through our eyes and because of our interests. That may be why we judge others so hard when in fact we are judging ourselves.

If these holidays you find yourself alone, ask someone who cares about you to invite you and be in the company of others to be better. Don’t be a Grinch.
