Two roads
In life we can choose any path we want to get to our destination: happiness. These paths are very similar to each other: they are simple and easy to travel by; the other one is hard and complex, but seems straight ahead.
Both paths can get us to happiness, but the journey differs in the way we can achieve goals through hard work and dedication we may be harmed and it may be difficult to go ahead and keep pace by working every day to at least get one step ahead. Or we can get distracted by the pleasures and the joys that the road may bring and get lost in the way by losing sight of the happiness we can achieve if we get ahead.
Since the first philosophers, we can see that the difficult road takes from us our character and builds it to make us virtuous, hardworking, and free. Even though many religions talk about sacrifice and losing sight of us to achieve greatness, we can see that clearly: heroes, knights, scientists, people who have fought for their dreams, leaders, and entrepreneurs, all have lost themselves to achieve greatness. Good habits make us people who change the world by working in everyday life, taking care of details, loving ourselves and others, focusing on what matters, enduring what may come, and moving forward with our true selves: to be happy and keep on being happy with themselves and others.
