Utere non reditura
Time flies and we remain, there is a change in things surrounding us. If everything changes, and we see the change, does it affects us? Of course, because we are in the middle of changes we still remain and we are able to appreciate it.
A philosopher Heraclitus said that we are constantly changing, and we see that in nature and in ourselves, but how can we notice a change if we are constantly changing? Another Philosopher Parmenides says that there is no change because we remain ourselves.
This problem took 200 years to understand, but we see that this is possible in nature: laws and concepts remain while material things changes, as Plato and Aristotle, figured out.
The stoics applied this principle in their everyday life with carpediem (seize the day) and use the hour because it will not come again.
