Wonder
We all know that what is important is within ourselves, not what is outside, nor what others say we need to be successful, accepted or belong to a group. We all know this in theory, but in practice is too hard to live it: we get frustrated, we don’t tolerate, we want everyone to see who we are, we want people to accept us but without doing something.
We must be the bigger person and tolerate, respect and realize that their small mind can’t process a large life scheme. The problem may come from lack of imagination, creativity and thought; people discriminate others who are different because they are afraid of what they don’t know and they resist to accept the new. It is a paradox because we all want to innovate, but not to change what we are used to.
The movie Wonder is about a boy, Gussie, that has a rare disease and is bullied because he is different. People learn to accept him once they are in touch with him, and realize what they were missing. Because once you are different or special you learn to survive in a world who is the same. Learn something new or meet someone outside your usual social circle and you will learn to see life at its fullest.
