Thanks, it’s free
In a world where everything has a price, where we expect recognition, or a reward for what we do, we often forget that we have certain privileges, not the same as others, but things given to us for no reason. I mean, that whatever has happened to us is not because we deserve it, but sometimes things just come for free: a compliment, a gift, love, a kiss, candy, etc. Whatever we get without any expectation or justice.
Is everything we have and gotten from our habilities and effort? Or is it also becausethey were given to us? Our talent, skills, society, things, friends, jobs. Let’s think about what was free and we don’t even realize it, until it’s lost.
One of the things happy people do is that they realize that whatever happens is not because of us, but because it happens as a gift to us. We may not like it, but thanks to that we are better; we can value other things that have kept us from reaching our true potential.
People tend to focus on the bad things that happen all around us, instead of focusing on what we have right here and now. Life is a gift, enjoy it.

I really relate this topic to virtues. One isn´t completely virtuous until he realices and accepts it. The same with the things and abilities he are given; how can we appreciate what we don´t notice?
Our most precious hability is not only the way we act, but the fact that we can change bad habits into good ones, until we´re virtuous.
