Have a rich life

Everyone tells us what to do with our lives. Sometimes they seem so convinced to «help» us that they plan to impose on us what they believe, think or do. Instead of making us feel confortable or helping us to be better, we end up disappointed about our lives because we are not good enough as they think we should be. But what do they mean with «should»? Was there a plan and we didn’t get notified? Are we suppoused to follow a route? Did we get lost? If we did, from where?

The main problem is that we don’t know ourselves that well because we haven’t lived that much or we think we lack all the knowledge to know what to expect or to do. But how can we gain some experience without one? I mean, if we are supposed to know who we are and we haven’t lived that much, how can we know how to behave?
We may not know from personal experience, but we can learn it by reading about different scenarios where we can accompany the protagonists of the stories and determine what kind of action, behaviour or solution we can imagine if we were in that same situation. Reading helps us live a thousand lives in a thousand worlds, but most of all we can learn about ourselves and determine what kind of person we want to be.
Books can show us a lot about ourselves; if we learn to value them, we can have the most wonderful experiences without leaving our comfort zone, so when we are ready, we can do it knowing we are not alone.
