Black mirror and Huxley

The book “A wonderful world” shows us the future based on the principles that society thinks or is taught to think about life, happiness, truth and lifestyle.

We are determined by the environment but also by the ideologies that are around us. Each difference shows us what separates us instead of enriching us and seeking for a unity that would reveal to us that we need to keep on learning. What would happen if we all thought and wanted the same things? All our problems would disappear and there would be no wars nor violence because we would know what is missing or lacking and we would solve it right on the spot. 

Nowadays the world seems a mess where people are more and more separated than united. People seem to be miserable and violent and it seems everyone has problems because of their beliefs and they become lonely and miserable and end up being a terrorist. The information flowing around us is filled with crimes and violence that shows us a bad world, it seems we cannot run from it. 

If we all want the same things, then why is it so difficult to get them? Why can’t we behave in the same way?

The Netflix series “Black mirror” present society’s problems with all these complex questions and a simple resolution as Huxley wrote a hundred years ago. We can change the language but we cannot change reality. If we understand this then every word we use has meaning and we can escape from different ideologies and conflicts that we are facing each day.
