EL PROBLEMA DE FALTA DE HOGAR
En mundo de hoy cada vez más podemos encontrar las personas sin techo en las calles, en medios de transporte u otros sitios. Algunos estudios afirman que al mismo tiempo se aumenta extremadamente el número de los
vagabundos y los millonarios.
Me hierve la sangre que unos no tengan recursos para vivir y otros posean tanto dinero que no saben cuánto tienen. Además, me desborda por completo que haya personas sin techo y a la vez los que vivan en las casas de lujo rebosante de oro y los diamantes. Este problema constituye un ejemplo de gran injusticia. Desde hace tiempo me estoy preguntando por qué hay tanta desigualdad entre la gente. Opino que si los multimillonarios y millonarios
decidieran donar parte de su dinero, muchos de los vagabundos vivirían en condiciones decentes y gracias a esto la desigualdad entre ricos y pobres no se incrementaría. No es justo que algunos mueran de la sed y de la desnutrición por falta de dinero y unos tienen tan fácil acceso a los alimentos. Entonces, desde mi punto de vista, debemos estar agradecidos por nuestra casa, por los alimentos que consumimos y el agua que bebemos porque a lo mejor uno en otro lado no tiene este privilegio. Cada uno de nosotros ha que respetar la comida y no malgastarla, porque quizás para alguien este plato sería una cosa que no puede permitirse.
A menudo a la gente sin hogar se les mira por encima del hombro. Gran cantidad de personas no ve el grave problema que es la indigencia. Los privilegiados frecuentemente no echan la mano a los sin techo. Esto se debe al
hecho de que muchos desconfían de la pobreza de ellos. Unos creen que mendigan para aprovechar de la bondad humana. Estoy consciente de que unos de los vagabundos fingen ser personas sin hogar y esto no cabe duda, pero al mismo tiempo unos de verdad no tienen recursos para mantenerse. La falta de confianza entre la gente resulta que no ayudemos a los en necesidad.
El problema de los sin domicilio es un asunto difícil de resolver porque al principio tendríamos que asumir que todos los vagabundos tienen buenas intenciones pero no es así.
Otro aspecto que aborda el problema es la comprensión de las necesidades de los pobres. Muy a menudo a la gente en los márgenes de la sociedad se les ayuda incorrectamente. Se les da dinero que en mayoría de los casos no sirve a las personas porque al haber recibido dinero uno después compra un alcohol y otros estimulantes. También lo que hay que recalcar es que lo que más necesitan esos individuos es simplemente la conversación con otro ser humano porque quizás lleven mucho tiempo sin hablar con nadie.
Quizás lo que más les hace falta es la sonrisa de alguien. Lo primero que debemos hacer antes de ayudar es preguntar que necesita determinada persona. Para unos las cosas requeridas son los medicamentos, la comida o el abrigo. Es indispensable que antes de echar mano a los sin techo intentemos comprender sus verdaderas necesidades porque cada uno está privado de diversas cosas.
En suma, el problema de falta de hogar me provoca muchas emociones. No cabe duda, que es un tema muy complejo y difícil de combatir. Para hacer del mundo un lugar mejor es necesario que se guiemos por empatía. Por si eso fuera poco, tenemos que dejar de ser sospechosos hacía otra gente y creer en sus buenas intenciones. No basta con solo ayuda, sino ayuda razonable y adecuada para las necesidades de cada individuo.

Desde mi punto de vista, lo que más necesitan es la conversación, es que opino que la más valiosa forma de ayudar es pasar el tiempo al lado de la gente en necesidad. De este modo ellos a lo mejor pueden sentirse importante para algunas personas.

Hi there! I read your blog about the problem of increasing homelessness, and I would like to respond on that.
For me, homelessness is as well a very emotional topic that makes very sad. I personally come from a very privileged society, but I still get confronted with homelessness a lot. In Germany, where I come from, is a significant problem with homelessness, even though it is in general a highly developed industry country. Especially in big cities, you will encounter many homeless people that need to beg on the streets and sleep under bridges, even in winter when it gets freezing cold. Since I live here in Mexico, I was even more shocked about the homelessness in here, because here it is a different level of the amount of people having no roof over their heads. They are in such poverty, there is no help from the government at all, and they even need to beg for money at cars that wait at red lights at intersections. Often, when I encounter homeless people, I give them money or something to eat, because I feel very empathic for them. Therefore, I totally agree with you, that homelessness is a huge problem, that needs to be minimized as far as possible. I also personally agree with most of your ideas how to help homeless people.
First of all, I also think it is very important that everyone that does not lack anything vital needs to be thankful about that, because it is not for granite. As you said, a stable home, running water, and enough food is something that by far not everyone has. That is why everyone needs to be aware of the value of these things.
Secondly, people need to be made aware of the problem of homelessness, because as you correctly said, many people do not know about the depth of that problem. Especially in developed countries, like Germany, that have many homeless people, a lot of people think that no one in there needs to suffer due to the good social system and the richness of those countries. In the case of Germany, that is not true at all, and many people underestimate that problem in there, and therefore do not help that problem to get better. For that reason, I totally agree with you that the homelessness needs much more attention, so people can help.
Thirdly, I also completely agree with you on the aspect that just giving money to homeless people is not always the best way to help them, because due to addictions and mental problems many homeless people use that money to buy alcohol and drugs. As you said, it I necessary to find out the specific need of a homeless person in order to properly help him or her. To do that, people should get into a empathic conversation with homeless people.
Nevertheless, there is one big and crucial point that misses in your blog, but it is one of the most important and effective measures that can minimize poverty and homelessness: I am talking about actions by the governments. There can be as many people supporting homeless people as you want, but as long as a government does not guarantee equal chances, social safety, and housing for everyone, the big problem of homelessness is never going to be minimized in a long term. The reason for that is that the root of the homelessness problem is mainly in the governments.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my comment. I am very glad that you agree with me as well, that the government has a huge impact on the problem of homelessness.
If you are interested, you can read about the measurements taken by government of Finland to minimize homelessness. It is very impressive and interesting, because they managed to give almost every of their citizens a roof over their heads – just 5.500 people in Finland are officially homeless, that is incredible! (In comparison: Germany has about 263.000 homeless people) I mean, it is still without a doubt 5.500 people to much without home, but it shows that Finland’s measurements are very effective, and especially how much influence a government can have.
I am very glad that you deal with that topic because it needs much more awareness.
