Split
There are many times in life, we wish we could be another person, or we ask ourselves «what would happen if we were another person?» What would happen in the universe if we were another person? With another social, economical, physical, professional status?
We are and therefore we exist; that means that we are who we are, and in consequence we do accordingly. If we decide to be another person we need to act differently, but that is not enough. Reality determines what we are, but we decide who we are from what we already are.
If we decide to be something or someone else, and we truly believe it, can we change reality according to our wishes? The human mind is powerful, we can believe a lie and never see its fault, the problem is that reality is still there; nothing can change it even if we want to see it differently.
The movie Split is about a guy that has 23 personalities and is capable of doing things that he never could or knew he could do. It is a disorder that makes the person believe things that may or may not be there, surprisingly they have more sills than a «normal» person. We are limited, but they seem to be unstopabble; there are no limits for those personalities.
In science it is not possible, but yet we don’t know all of the abilities of the human mind. What we must not forget is that to act like something or someone, we need to be that someone; otherwise we are just pretending.

The human mind is indeed a very powerful tool, and while it can be used to create great things, it is as capable of causing great harm. Many people in todays society don´t seem to get the idea that this post presents; the mind can believe a lot of things so firmly that you may think they are true, however reality is not what you believe. All the problems about sexual identity are caused because people can´t see the difference between what you believe and reality. This ideas create a positivism that is becoming very dangerous because now the law is getting involved. Trying to make laws that establish the subjective perception of reality of a group of people as the irrefutable truth for everyone just because they think that is reality is a threat to society, because then why can´t the subjective opinion that stealing, killing or raping is fine because an indvidual personally believes it?
Reality is what it is despite what you think and you can´t force people to accept whatever you believe if it is not real.
